From June 23-27, our team member Lizi Lomsadze travelled to Strasbourg, France with the International Institute for Education for what turned out to be one of the coolest experiences of her summer.

Lizi met first-hand with delegates from the Council of Europe and had the opportunity to engage in discussions on hot-topic issues. As part of her visit to the Embassy of Georgia in France, she had a chance to share her perspectives in discussions about Georgia’s aspirations and ambitions for European integration, as well as its benefits and broader future vision.

At the European Parliament, Lizi observed a plenary session on the dynamic connection between sports and politics, all of which culminated in a heated debate session with high-level representatives.

To round it all off, one of the top highlights of her trip was an unexpected meeting with the Prime Minister of Malta which provided a unique opportunity to hear his insights on global issues in an intimate setting.

The trip was a great way to get acquainted with European law-makers and the institutional bodies which are actively shaping Europe’s economic and political landscape – not to mention the beauty and cultural richness of Strasbourg – enabling Lizi to return to Georgia with new perspectives and shared values.
